About The Joy of English

Grammar: easier or more easily?

You might not think that there is any difference between these two but easier is an adjective and more easily is an adverbial phrase.

So, it is correct to say: "Your job is easier than mine" and "You seem to learn things more easily than I do".

Think of: easier job (adjective).

Think of: you learn more easily than I do (adverbial phrase).
